Mmmm…disturbing.

Tue 24 Jun 2008
One of the interesting phenomenons of the past decade or so is the explosion of eBay and the appearance of idiots who try and sell random junk to make money. I’ve bought many an item of eBay, but nothing like the apple core on which Tiger Woods was munching at the 12th tee during the 2008 U.S. Open. That would be weird enough, but some other genius put Tiger’s apple remains from the 16th on eBay as well! We’ve all seen morons trying to exploit get rich schemes in our own towns, but eBay has given them a medium to reach the world. I think my favorite part of the whole thing is the description of the 12th tee core:
I never touched the core, Scooped it up in a empty beer cup, as not to disrupt the DNA, Ive got lots of witness’…all moneys go to my daughters college fund
Thanks guy. The best thing about eBay is that it’s a great place to buy random, obscure items that you can’t find in your home town, and the worst thing about eBay is that it’s a great place to buy random, obscure items that you can’t find in your home town.

I usually have a fairly high faith in the goodness of humanity. Maybe it’s because I’m not as cynical or jaded as I should be, or maybe I’m just stupid. However I see a story like this and I just have to stop and sob for a bit.

Maybe it’s because I’m desperately trying to avoid studying for a final tomorrow, but it seems like YouTube has been ripe with above average content lately. This clip further proves that the NBA on TNT crew are the best sports studio commentators on TV, and I’m hoping TNT won’t take this down.
P.S. Did anyone catch Charles Barkley on the Jim Rome Show challenging Skip Bayless and Jay Mariotti (who apparently is so widely hated that his Wikipedia page is locked) to a 2-0n-Chuck fight?

This very NSFW video by Riskay entitled “Smell Yo Dick” is just too unreal, and my brain can’t process it. There’s no way this is real. If it is real, it means that a group of people thought this was a good idea, and that horrifies me on many, many levels.
The fact that I doubt this video’s authenticity only increases my concern that I’ve seen so many fakes, hoaxes, and rick rolls on the intertubes that I can no longer truly appreciate something so insane as this without doubt.

I figure it’s been a while since I’ve posted some true horrors from youtube, so here we go:
What in the hell is going on here, and more importantly what in the HELL is going on in the sequal?
Apparently whoever this dude is has a strange obsession with miniature celebrity “impersonators” as he also has a whole line of these videos. Perhaps the possibly NSFW Amy Winehouse is the most horrifying. YouTube can someday expect a bill for my therapy sessions.

I guess I have a strange fascination (or abhorrance) to commercials that feature music that is completely inappropriate for the product being advertised. There’s some new K-Swiss ad that I’ve seen around that features the Dandy Warhol’s “Bohemian Like You” which is completely wrong, but since I can’t find that one, I’m going to shift my focus to this Cadillac ad from several years back. It featured the song “Punk Rocker” by the Teddybears featuring godfather of punk Iggy Pop, and the ad used the song’s lyrics “I’m a punk rocker yes I am” pumped over an evolving Caddy. I remember watching this commercial and being left with one glaring question, what about Cadillac embodies punk rock? Is there anything? I don’t know if I was more disappointed in Cadillac for choosing the song or the Teddybears for signing off on it…

Sometimes I just hate pop culture…
